GW Law will host and co-sponsor C2ES's third Solutions forum, Financing Clean Power Technology. Mobilizing clean technologies will require investment. C2ES brings together city, state and business leaders to share ideas on the best ways to finance technology to reduce emissions and be more energy efficient. The event will be held from 9 a.m. - Noon at The George Washington University Law School, Lerner Hall, Jacob Burns Moot Court Room, First Floor, 2000 H St, NW, Washington, DC. C2ES held the second of its Solutions Forum events, Energy, Efficiency & IT. Energy efficiency could be the least-cost way for a state to meet its carbon reduction goals under the proposed Clean Power Plan. C2ES has reported that widely deploying information and communications technologies could save billions in energy costs. Business, state and city leaders explored options for increasing energy efficiency with information technology.

GW Law was a marketing co-sponsor of the Energy Bar Association's 2015 Annual Meeting & Conference. The event focused on the ever-changing challenges in the energy field. Commissioner Colette Honorable and PJM President and CEO, Terry Boston, gave the luncheon addresses, and Commissioner Norman Bay was be the star of the traditional Annual Dinner entertainment.

GW Law along with the EPA, Environment Law Institute, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and the International Network for Environmental Compliance and Enforcement co-sponsored the 2015 J.B. & Maurice C. Shapiro Environmental Law Symposium on "The Role of Advanced Monitoring, Remote Sensing, and New Forms of Information Gathering, Analysis, and Disclosure in Environmental Compliance and Enforcement." A follow-up conference will take place at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands in April 2015.

The Energy Bar Association's Ad Hoc Committee on Energy Law Education presented its findings to-date in its year-long study of energy law education at the 1st annual National Energy Education Summit and solicit further input in the afternoon workshop. The Summit, which was sponsored by the Council of Energy Research and Education Leaders (CEREL), was held on January 26, 2015. The presenters of the EBA study included Donna Attanasio, who chairs the committee, and committee member Nancy J. Skancke, JD '75. Find more information here.
The one-day education summit preceded the 15th National Conference and Global Forum on Science, Policy and the Environment, sponsored by the National Council for Science and Environment. This year, NCSE took up the issue of Energy and Climate Change. Amory Lovins gavee the John H. Chafee Memorial Lecture and sessions included "Reinventing Utilities" which featured a presentation by Donna Attanasio on the Minnesota e21 project.

The Energy Bar Association presented the newest addition to its primer series: An Introduction to Federal Oil Pipeline Regulation. The goal of the primer was to provide an overview of the federal economic regulatory scheme over oil and refined products pipelines. The primer was taught by industry practitioners as well as FERC regulators and will be hosted by Vinson & Elkins, LLP, in Houston, Texas. For more information, click here.
