Applying to the Clinics
Spring Overview
Application and Deadline
Effective March, 2009, the same application form and deadline is being used for all clinics. You must submit your Uniform Clinic Application by midnight on Thursday, October 22. If you are applying for more than one clinic, you must submit a separate application for each one and rank your preferences consistently across your applications in the appropriate place on the application form.
To apply for a spring semester clinic, you must first complete and submit the Uniform Clinic Application. Some clinics have additional application requirements, summarized on the Clinic Chart page, which must also be completed by the deadline. Please review the Clinic Chart page carefully for any additional information your specific clinic application may require. If you are applying to the Domestic Violence Project, you must submit a Placement Selection Form which is linked to the Uniform Clinic Application.

Additional Documents
Completing the Uniform Clinic Application requires attaching your Current Resume and an Unofficial Transcript. These must be attached separately in either Word or PDF format. After attaching your Resume and Unofficial Transcript, press Submit.
An Unofficial Transcript (view sample) is a complete semester-by-semester list of the law school courses you have taken, indicating the professors’ names, the number of course credits, and the grades received. Please prepare your Unofficial Transcript carefully and in reverse chronological order, including the courses you are taking in fall semester 2009. Be sure to proofread it closely, as we may be verifying its accuracy thereafter.
Please note: If we are unable to open or otherwise read your submitted application or its attachments, we will contact you through your law.gwu.edu email account and request re-submission. Accordingly, you are required to check your law.gwu.edu email account at least once a day after you have submitted your application for possible communication regarding your attempted application. If we are unable to open or read your application and you do not respond to our follow-up email(s) to your law.gwu.edu account in which we request re-submission, your application will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered for Spring 2010.
If you are unable to send any part of your required materials electronically, you may fax your complete application to the Clinic at: 202.994.4693, or bring hard copies of the complete application to the Clinic receptionist at 2000 G St. If you are delivering a hard copy, you must do so by 5pm on Thursday, October 22. After October 22, you may apply to a clinic only if you first contact the professor to determine if there are any openings and receive permission to file a late application.

Interviews
None of the spring clinics require interviews of applicants. The clinic professor will contact you directly in the event that further information is needed from you for selection purposes.

Selection Process
Please refer to the Clinic Chart page for details on the selection process for each clinic. If you are selected, you will receive an e-mail from the clinic’s professor by 3pm on Monday, October 26. If you do not receive an e-mail, you have likely been placed on a wait list. A list of all students accepted for each Clinic and all those wait listed will be posted in the Clinic reception area at 2000 G St. You can register for a Clinic via GWeb only once you receive notice that you have been selected into the Clinic.
