Outside Placement

The Law School’s location and the experience of the Environmental Program’s faculty and staff provide students with unique access to internship opportunities with the area’s many federal and local government agencies involved in implementing environmental laws and non-profit organizations concerned with environmental legal issues.

The Outside Placement Program and the Environmental Program Office maintain lists of agencies and organizations that are able to provide internships for law students and help match each participant with an organization that most closely aligns with his or her particular area of interest.

Students have worked with a wide range of organizations including the Department of Justice, U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency, and non-governmental organizations such as the Center for International Environmental Law, the National Resources Defense Council, Oceana, and the National Academies.
