OUTSIDE PLACEMENT PROGRAM
Fall 2008 Registration Checklist
- Read the Guide to Outside Placement Program
- Look for a placement
- You can contact Juliana Russo, Friedman Fellow, by email at jrusso@law.gwu.edu if you are unsure if a specific placement has been pre-approved
- Review the co-requisite course descriptions and times in the Law School Bulletin and decide on your first, second and third choices
- Complete the pre-registration forms, the Notice of Intent to Register and Student Agreement (Forms A1 and A2), and submit to the Outside Placement Program Assistant Jerri Thomas in Burns 305, or by email to outplace@law.gwu.edu, no later than May 23, 2008, even if you do not have a placement. Late pre-registration forms are being accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Secure and accept a firm offer from a field placement
- Complete the Student Registration Form (Form B1) and Field Placement Information Sheet (Form B2), with your placement supervisor
- Submit both the completed B1 and B2 forms, either by email to outplace@law.gwu.edu or by hand to Jerri Thomas in Burns 305, no later than August 15, 2008. Please note: OPP is accepting submissions throughout the summer – you do not need to wait until just before the deadline. If the submitted forms and information are satisfactory, the OPP prepares Form B3 (the Records Office course enrollment form) for the student to pick up, sign and deliver to the Records Office. OPP registration is complete once the Records Office has the B3. You do not register online or through the Records Office for the Outside Placement Program or the co-requisite course.
There are many details, variations, and exceptions about registration. They are fully described in the guide referenced above. This is just a basic checklist. |
