“I came away from the Oxford program with a sense of optimism and excitement. My classmates and I were driven by a simple premise, best expressed in Article 1 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human rights: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”  It is in this spirit that we embraced the opportunity to learn about the human rights abuses of the past and the challenges of today, so that we can meet these challenges and prevent the abuses of tomorrow.”
