Dean Dinwoodey Center for Intellectual Property Studies

The Dean Dinwoodey Center for Intellectual Property Studies, co-directed by Professors Martin J. Adelman and Robert Brauneis and Associate Dean John Whealan, sponsors research and activities on a broad range of intellectual property issues. The Center is funded in part by the Bureau of National Affairs in memory of its founder Dean Dinwoodey, J.D. '29. The Center's work focuses on both international and domestic issues, and students at the Law School are encouraged to initiate and participate in its regional studies, domestic patent reform efforts, and other projects.

World IP Day For the past three years, GW Law's Creative and Innovative Economy Center has sponsored World IP Day events in D.C., Los Angeles, and New York. In 2007, CIEC Director Mike Ryan welcomed U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez to the Capitol Hill event.
