Political Law Society
The Political Law Society (PLS) is the non-partisan student arm of the Political Law Studies Initiative. PLS collaborates with faculty to organize panel discussions and workshops with political law experts, brown bag lunches with practitioners, and professional networking events that enable alumni to build relationships with one another and with current GW Law students. Many of our current students have worked on and managed election campaigns, and many more have worked on Capitol Hill. Seeking to encourage commitment to public engagement regardless of political stripe, PLS maintains an active list of internships and job opportunities for current Law School students.
During the 2010-2011 academic year, PLS won the award for "Best New Event" from the GW Law Gavel Club for their campaign finance panel event, and during the 2011-2012 academic year, PLS won the award for "Outstanding Student Organization.
