Logan Circle

Neighborhood Guide

Named for a Civil War General and U.S. Senator, Logan Circle has established itself as one of the most culturally diverse neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. The area features art galleries, a live theater, and numerous bars and restaurants, many of which have student-friendly prices. A local Whole Foods provides convenient grocery shopping. For the less-trendy, the area also has a Giant as well as several locally-owned supermarkets.

Logan Circle boasts a terrific location and lies mere blocks from the restaurants, shopping, and exciting nightlife of Dupont Circle, Chinatown, and U Street Corridor.

The area also offers relatively affordable housing prices. Recently gentrified, many of the area’s houses, apartment complexes, and condos are quite new. Although not as cheap as some of the city’s more remote areas, residents of Logan Circle will get the most bang for their buck.

Commute: Although the Law School is within walking distance, the area offers additional convenience via its close proximity to the Convention Center (Green/Yellow Lines), Metro Center (Red/Blue/Orange Lines), and McPherson Square (Blue/Orange Lines) Metro stops.

Rent estimates: Rent is still relatively affordable for DC. Studios and 1 bedrooms typically cost between $900 and 1250; many 2 bedrooms are $2000 or under.
