LL.M. Admissions
International Students at GW Law
For fall 2008, the International Graduate Programs Office received a total of 567 applications (541 LL.M. and 26 S.J.D.) from 89 countries.
The entering class includes 110 LL.M. candidates and one S.J.D. candidate from non-U.S. law schools, representing a total of 48 countries. They include judges, prosecutors, corporate counsel, attorneys, students, human rights activists, and government officials. The greatest number of students were from China, India, Japan, Korea, Brazil, and Taiwan.
In addition, four international exchange students enrolled in fall 2008, three from the GW-Augsburg exchange program and one from the NACLE program.
International students at GW do not pursue a separate course of studies from their U.S. counterparts, but rather study side-by-side with both U.S. trained attorneys in the LL.M. program and J.D. students as well.
