International Students at GW Law
For fall 2011, the International Graduate Programs Office received over 650 applications from 84 countries.
The entering class includes 110 LL.M. candidates from non-U.S. law schools, representing a total of 43 countries. They include judges, prosecutors, corporate counsel, attorneys, students, Fullbright scholars, human rights activists, and government officials. The greatest number of students was from China, Korea, India, Japan, Germany, Brazil, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Mexico, and Thailand.
In addition, 11 international exchange students enrolled for the 2011-2012 academic year. Three students are from the NACLE consortium, four students are from the University of Augsburg, two from the University of Groningen, and two from the Universita Commerciale de Bocconi.
International students at GW do not pursue a separate course of studies from their U.S. counterparts, but rather study side-by-side with both U.S. trained attorneys in the LL.M. program and J.D. students as well.
