Fall Recruitment Program

The Fall Recruitment Program (FRP) connects legal employers who are recruiting for summer and permanent positions with GW Law’s talented 2L, 3L and LLM students. While the majority of employer participants are large law firms; other employers represented include government agencies, public interest and legal services offices, and district attorneys' offices.   

FRP facilitates the recruiting efforts of more than 600 employers each year through on-campus interviews (OCI), resume collections, regional interview programs, and direct write job postings. More than 750 law students participate in OCI, generating upwards of 5,000 interviews. 

Employers unable to attend on-campus or regional interview programs can utilize our FRP resume collection and direct write job postings. Through these options, employers have the flexibility to contact students directly and arrange interviews at their office or in the GW Law Career Center in September or early October. Please contact us if you are interested in hosting your interviews at the Career Center.

On-Campus Interview Program (OCI)

August 11–19, 2015 | The Ritz Carlton, Washington DC

This signature program is promoted throughout the summer to our 2L and 3L students, providing your job openings with the highest level of visibility. The Career Center will collect student resumes, you will preselect your interview candidates, and we will coordinate your interview schedule.

Resume Collection

Employers unable to attend the on-campus or regional interview programs are invited to participate in an online Resume Collection. You will receive resumes from interested students and can arrange interviews directly with the candidates you choose. 

Regional Interview Programs

GW Law hosts two exclusive off-campus interview programs in Philadelphia (August 6, 2015) and New York (August 7, 2015). Enjoy the convenience of participating in a local program while meeting students who have a demonstrated interest in these markets.

Registration

Employers are strongly encouraged to register by April 15 as hotel space is limited. Please follow these instruction to register for OCI, New York & Philadelphia Regional Programs, or Resume Collections:

  1. Log into Symplicity*.
  2. Click OCI on the top toolbar of your homepage.
  3. Under the Schedule Requests tab, click Request Schedule.
  4. Next to Select Session, select the recruitment program of your choice: "2015 GW Fall OCI**," "2015 New York Regional Program," "2015 Philadelphia Regional Program," or "2015 GW Resume Collection."
  5. Complete the form, indicating preferred interview dates and candidate criteria.  Please provide a minimum of three acceptable dates.  We will make every effort to accommodate your first choice, however availability is limited.
  6. When finished, click Submit.

*Your Symplicity username is the email address associated with your Symplicity account. If you have forgotten your password, click the "Forgot Password" button.  If you do not have a Symplicity account, click "Register" or contact us at 202-994-7340.

**Please note: If you are participating in the OCI Program at the Ritz Carlton, Washington, DC, you must also book your interview room(s) directly with the hotel by calling 202-835-0500. These reservations cannot be used for overnight accommodations; interview rooms must be vacated by 6:00pm.  If you are participating in the NY or Philadelphia Regional programs, you do not need to book your interview room directly with the hotel; you only need to register through Symplicity.

OCI Employer Hospitality Suites & Sleeping Rooms

Employers are welcome to host hospitality suites on the date of their interviews.  Hospitality suites provide a fantastic opportunity to increase visibility among students, accept application materials from additional students, and meet with students who were unable to schedule an interview.  All hospitality suite reservations must be coordinated directly with the hotel. 

If you require overnight accommodations, you must make separate reservations directly with the hotel. Interview rooms are for day-time use only and are not available for sleeping overnight.

The Law Consortium Regional Interview Programs

GW Law School is also a member of The Law Consortium; a group of top-ranked law schools that hosts interview programs in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco. If your firm or organization is interested in participating in one of these programs, please visit The Law Consortium  for further information and registration. If you have questions, please contact the coordinator for your region of interest.

*Note: The Law Consortium also sponsors a Philadelphia and Washington, DC Regional Interview Program that is separate from GW Law's Philadelphia Regional and Washington, DC On-Campus Interview Programs. To interview GW Law students in these two areas, employers must register through GW Law's programs.

Direct Write Job Postings

Employers who prefer the flexibility to conduct resume collections on their own timeline can create a Direct Write job posting.  These postings allow employers set their own deadlines and retrieve application materials at their convenience. Log into Symplicity and click the Jobs tab, then click "Add New." Under position type, select "FRP Direct Writes" to associate your posting with the Fall Recruitment Program. 

Firms that wish to receive 2L and 3L student applications directly for summer and permanent positions may post a job announcement on Symplicity as part of the Fall Recruitment Program. Log into Symplicity and click on the Jobs tab, then click on "Add New." Under position type, mark "FRP Direct Writes" to associate your posting with the Fall Recruitment Program. 

Make Room for Equal Justice

GW Law encourages employers to participate in the Make Room for Equal Justice Program. The program allows employers to donate $150 to the Equal Justice Foundation on behalf of callback candidates (students) who elect to forego hotel accommodations provided by the employer if travel is required for a second interview. Employers may register by completing the EJF hotel voucher form [pdf], and emailing it to Tamara Devieux-Adams, Associate Director for Public Interest Programs.
