Presidential Management Fellowship Program

Congratulations to all of the GW Law School 2010 Presidential Management Fellowship Nominees!

PMF Nominees should receive official notification via email from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management that they have been nominated by GW Law approximately two to three weeks after the nomination deadline (October 31, 2009). Applicants can track the status of their application and nomination via “Application Manager”, initiated through the vacancy announcement.

Also, those nominated should receive a separate email inviting them to participate in a structured assessment at the assessment site of their choice. During the months of January and February 2010, Nominees will complete an objectively scored assessment that focuses on three areas:

1. Critical Thinking Skills (analytical problem solving)
2. Life Experience (leadership competencies)
3. Writing Fundamentals (written communication)

Based on their scores, and any veterans’ preference adjudication, Nominees are ranked and notified of their selection as Finalists in late-March or early-April 2010.

To prepare for the assessment, check out the “Assessment Preparation Guide for Nominees” on the “How to Apply” section of the PMF website. Also, one of the GW Law 2009 Finalists indicated the Courtney Fong: a jd/mba perspective blog (written by a 2007 Finalist) offered helpful advice and a link to a DHS Thinking Manual that, in his opinion, added value to the OPM Guide.

If you have additional questions please contact Anna Marshall at 202-994-7340 or via email at amarshall@law.gwu.edu.
