DC Superior Court and DC Court of Appeals Hiring

Clerkships with the local courts in DC are great opportunities.  The Superior Court judges generally accept applications on a rolling basis beginning in September of students' 3L year, and some judges will continue to accept applications as late as spring of students' 3L year.

The clerkship office maintains updated Excel spreadsheets with specific contact and hiring information for the DC judges, and those can be found on the portal under the Clerkship Department.  You can also check the DC Courts website for information as well.  You will also find templates and instructions on the portal.  If you want the clerkship office to prepare any recommendation letters that you have on file, please email a list of judges you are applying to, using this Mail Merge Template, as an attachment (in the Excel format) to clerkship@law.gwu.edu.  The CDO also posts specific clerkship openings on the Symplicity Job Bank, just search under Job Type "Judicial Clerkship."
