GW Law faculty members are leaders in their fields, scholars and practitioners with real-world legal experience and strong reputations in the legal community. Regardless of speciality, every faculty member is devoted first and foremost to teaching.
Our faculty members are respected scholars and authors of leading casebooks and works for general readership alike. Many remain involved in practice, whether arguing cases before the Supreme Court or serving as counsel to foreign governments. They are among the most cited law faculty in the nation, regularly appearing in print, online and on-air in world-renowned media outlets.
GW Law has approximately 110 full time Faculty and Deans, and 250 adjuncts providing instruction to our students. With a 15:1 student-to-faculty ratio and a commitment to offer many small, seminar-style courses, GW Law ensures students have meaningful and frequent access to their professors. With years of experience at the bar and bench, our professors bring valuable insight to the classroom, impacting the life and education of each student as they influence and inform national and international legal opinion.
