Biographical Sketch
Michael Schlesinger is Of Counsel to Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp and represents the International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA), a coalition of seven copyright trade associations (over 3,200 companies) in worldwide IP legislative and enforcement reform efforts, with a focus on Asia, the Middle East and Africa. He is frequently called upon by lawmakers, policymakers and the press on addressing IP challenges in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Professor Schlesinger helped lead efforts in the first-ever successful IP and market access cases to be brought by the United States against China at the World Trade Organization.

Professor Schlesinger's most recent publications include Through the Lens of TRIPs Enforcement Text and WIPO 'Internet' Treaties: The Possible Shift to a Creative Economy in Southeast Asia, in Christopher Antons, Ed., "The Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights: Comparative Perspectives from the Asia-Pacific Region," Kluwer Law Books (2011). Professor Schlesinger sings with the Washington Chorus, composes music in his spare time, and has appeared on stage and television (most recently in the Netflix series House of Cards), and is a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA.
