Biographical Sketch
Mark J. Nackman is Assistant General Counsel at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. He primarily supports the Cyber Systems Division and the Signals Intelligence Line of Business. Previously, Mr. Nackman served as Vice President, Associate General Counsel for ATK Missile Products Group, a business unit of Alliant Techsystems.
He also previously served as both a civilian attorney-advisor and active duty Judge Advocate (JAG) with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Nackman’s military assignments included Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico and the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California where he also served as a member of the civil service. In 2005, Mr. Nackman served as the Staff Judge Advocate to the 506th Air Expeditionary Group at Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Mr. Nackman is an American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Public Contract Law 2010 Writing Competition award winner (2nd Place – Division II) and is a previous winner of the National Contract Management Association’s (NCMA) W. Gregor Macfarlan Excellence in Contract Management Research and Writing Program (1st Place – Graduate Division, 2009). He is also a recipient of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the NCMA’s 2010 Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for his work in the Government Procurement Law program at The George Washington University Law School. Mr. Nackman is an active author and speaker on Aerospace and Defense Acquisition issues. His publications include works in The International Lawyer, the Public Contract Law Journal and the Journal of Contract Management.
