As director of special collections, Ms. Meade is responsible for special collections, which comprises more than 11,000 rare books, incunabula, and manuscripts. She is the author of The French Collection, which describes the library's major collection of French historical legal materials dating from the 15th through 19th centuries, and the creator of the library's first online exhibition, The Duel, a legal history of duelling illustrated with materials from special collections. The French Collection was the 2004 winner of the prestigious American Association of Law Libraries' Publications Award. Ms. Meade also is the editor of A Legal Miscellanea, a semi-annual newsletter for the Friends of the Jacob Burns Law Library. Her most recent work is the introduction to the 2006 Lawbook Exchange, Ltd. reprint of 18th century jurisconsulte Claude-Joseph de Ferriere's Dictionnaire de Droit et de Pratique (1787).
Ms. Meade has been with the Law Library since 1988, serving in several capacities including associate director, acting director, deputy assistant dean for information services, and associate librarian for research.
