Biographical Sketch
Laurie Ristino is a Senior Counsel with the Office of the General Counsel for the United States Department of Agriculture. She advises the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Forest Service on environmental and natural resource law issues. She also advises the Department on climate change legal policy matters, carbon offsetting and ecosystem services. She is a trained negotiator and mediator and, as a collateral duty, serves as lead mediator with the Department of Health and Human Services’ Sharing Neutrals program.
Professor Ristino is an associate member of the Environmental Law Institute. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, where she has served in various leadership roles and is currently an editor of Natural Resource & Environment magazine. She has published articles on carbon offsets, property and resource protection, and wind energy. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar.
