Dr. Alexandrov is a partner at Sidley Austin LLP. His practice focuses on international dispute resolution, international trade and investment, and trade and investment policy. Dr. Alexandrov has extensive professional and academic experience in public international law and international dispute settlement. He has represented parties in numerous international arbitrations, including arbitrations between foreign investors and host states, and in disputes before the World Trade Organization. He also serves as an arbitrator in investor-state disputes and has appeared as an expert witness on matters of treaty interpretation.
Previously, Dr. Alexandrov was vice minister of foreign affairs of Bulgaria. Prior to that, he served as deputy chief of mission of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Washington, D.C. A Bulgarian national, Dr. Alexandrov holds a Russian law degree in addition to his U.S. credentials. He is a member of the Institut de Droit International. Dr. Alexandrov has published several books and numerous articles on public international law matters, international dispute settlement, international arbitration, and international trade.
