Biographical Sketch
Ms. Ridder was a legal services attorney in rural Virginia for seven years, working on civil rights, housing public benefits, and domestic relations cases. She served on the initial boards of the Nappahannock Committee against Domestic Violence, Virginians against Domestic Violence, and the Virginia Women Attorney’s Association. Ms. Ridder later worked for the Women’s Legal Defense Fund. She has taught at GW in the Law School and in the Women’s Studies department since 1984, teaching courses on gender, discrimination and the law, sexual orientation and the law, feminist legal theory, family law, trusts and estates, community property child, family and state, and juvenile justice.
