Commencement and Law School Diploma Ceremony
Two ceremonies will mark the graduation of the Class of 2009:
University Commencement
Featuring a keynote by Rahm Emanuel, Chief of Staff to President Barack Obama
10 a.m.
National Mall, between 4th and 7th Streets
Graduates should assemble on the Mall at 4th Street at 9:30am for the Procession.

Law School Diploma Ceremony
Alumnus and Professor Gregory G. Garre, the 44th U.S. Solicitor General, will give the diZerega Address.

* Graduates should plan to gather at the corner of 20th and G Streets for a class photo at 1 p.m.
* Following the photo, all graduates should line up at Funger Hall at 1:30 p.m., the Procession will commence at 2 p.m.

Important: Alternate Site/Emergency Plan Information for All Commencement Participants and Guests
Commencement will be held on the National Mall rain or shine. However, If circumstances beyond the University's control (such as an electrical storm) prevent the ceremony from taking place on the National Mall, we hope to hold the event in the Verizon Center. For complete details regarding the alternate site plan, please visit the GW web site. In the event that Commencement is moved, information will be available on the University's Campus Advisories and WTOP radio.
