INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES


Deaf and Hard of Hearing Concerns

Sign language interpreters will be provided for both the University Commencement and the Law School Diploma Ceremonies. If you or your guests desire to be seated near an interpreter for the Commencement ceremony please call the Office of Disability Support Services at 202-994-8250 before Monday April 21. For special seating at the Law School ceremony, please contact the Dean’s Office at 202-994-6288.

Wheelchairs and Mobility Concerns

For guests attending University Commencement on Sunday, May 18, shuttle buses will be provided to transport them between GW's Foggy Bottom campus and the National Mall. There will be designated wheelchair accessible shuttle buses that depart from Rice Hall and pull up as close as possible to the National Mall seating.

The section of seating closest to this drop-off location is reserved for individuals with mobility requirements and those in a wheelchair. One guest from the individual’s party may join them in this section. Ushers will be available to assist with seating. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping this section available for those with mobility requirements. Wheelchair accessible restrooms will be available on the National Mall.

For guests attending the Law School Diploma Ceremony, seating will be available in the Smith Center for guests with special mobility requirements. Please contact the Dean’s Office at 202-994-4774 to make arrangements for individual needs.
