Guest Speaker: Senator Hillary Clinton
Senator Hillary Clinton Delivers Foreign Policy Address at GW
March 17, 2008 -- Presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered a policy address on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan at GW today, her second visit to the University in less than a month. In her address, Sen. Clinton outlined a three-part Iraq exit strategy she said would go into effect within 60 days of her taking office should she be elected president. Sen. Clinton said this strategy was informed by her experience on the Senate Armed Services Committee and her visits to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bosnia as a senator and as a former first lady.
GW President Steven Knapp welcomed Sen. Clinton to the stage as a friend of the University; she recently delivered a foreign policy address and attended a rally at GW on Feb. 25. In 1994, as first lady, Sen. Clinton received an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree from GW and served as the Commencement keynote speaker.
