Rigney is Academic All-American

Third-year law student Patrick Rigney has been named by Inside Lacrosse as a 2013 Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) Academic All-American.  Rigney plays for the George Washington University's lacrosse team as a defensive midfielder, he is the only law student on the Colonials team and the only one receiving the Academic All-American title.

Rigney on law school and lacrosse:
"Law school can be about more than just learning the law.  For me, it was also about learning to be a leader because as a member of the club lacrosse team, I was able to play a great sport with great teammates and coaches, but I also was in a position to mentor and be an example for my younger undergraduate teammates.  Being selected as an Academic All-American is both an honor and a privilege, and I am thankful to have been able to wear the buff and blue as a representative of the George Washington University and the Law School."

Rigney, a graduate of University Of Notre Dame in political science, is from Rockville, Maryland.  He will stay in the area after graduating in May having accepted an offer with the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office.
