Donna Attanasio Fills New Senior Advisor Position for Energy Law
Donna Attanasio joins GW Law as the new Senior Advisor for Energy Law Programs, a position made possible by a generous Constellation Energy Foundation grant. Ms. Attanasio has more than 20 years of experience as an energy lawyer, most recently at the firm of White & Case, and is a past President of the Energy Bar Association. Last month, Ms. Attanasio was awarded best in energy, natural resources, and mining by Euromoney LMG Americas Women in Business Law Awards 2013.
“Energy issues are now at the forefront of the national and international agenda, driven by rapid expansion of hydraulic fracturing, the growth in deployment of renewable energy generation facilities, new technologies such as the smart grid, and concerns over climate change, national security, environmental pollution, access to energy, and other factors,” said Associate Dean for Environmental Studies LeRoy Paddock. “Donna Attanasio's extensive experience in the energy law field will help GW assume a leadership role in preparing students for careers in the rapidly evolving field of energy law and in addressing through conferences, dialogues, and researching legal and policy issues that will be central to a more sustainable energy future for the country and beyond.”
