  • Public Interest and Pro Bono Program

The Public Interest and Pro Bono Program is directed by Alan Morrison, the Lerner Family Associate Dean for Public Interest and Public Service Law.The Pro Bono Program is under the direction of David Johnson, Assistant Dean for Public Interest and Public Service Law. Students volunteer to work for non-profit or government organizations, on projects that are organized by student groups on their own, or on projects for non-profit organizations doing legal work.

  • The Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics

Since 1971, The Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics (CLC) have provided members of the local community with critically needed legal services while giving motivated law students the opportunity to view the legal system up close and get experience as counselors and advocates for people in need. Closely supervised by faculty, students assist clients while learning about professional responsibility and honing their lawyering skills.

  • Volunteering at GW Law

There are many ways to volunteer at GW Law. In addition to volunteer projects organized by the GW Law Public Interest and Pro Bono Program, students can get involved with a myriad of volunteer opportunities through Student Organizations and GW's Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service.
