Student Organizations
Evening Law Student Association (ELSA)
President: Mary Anne McReynolds [email]
ELSA’s membership reflects a broad diversity of experiences and viewpoints. Many ELSA members began law school after enjoying successful careers, and a large number continue to work while they attend school. Because many student organization meetings, clinic responsibilities, and Law School events occur during times when evening students are unable to attend, ELSA was formed to give these students an opportunity to participate more fully in campus activities. It has sponsored many events, including a symposium on how to publish written works, a networking event with alumni in the Washington area, visits from prominent speakers (such as Law School evening graduate and former Attorney General William Barr) and a number of social events. ELSA also serves as an advocate for evening students with the Law School administration, seeking to ensure an understanding of the special circumstances of evening students.
