The GW Law Softball Club participates in the annual UVA Law Softball Tournament, which takes place in Charlottesville, Virginia, typically on the first weekend of April, and benefits the Children, Youth and Family Services of Charlottesville. GW sends three or four teams to the two-day, double elimination tournament each year, to compete against more than 100 other teams from law schools around the country. The group sends competitive and recreational teams, so players of all skill levels and experience are encouraged to come out and play. In addition, the Softball Club holds fundraisers in the fall and spring semesters to help cover registration, equipment, uniform, and accommodations costs. In past years, fund-raising efforts combined with school funding have resulted in a virtually free weekend of fun for all participants.
