Renee Y. DeVigne joined the law school in 1999 having served over the course of her career as associate counsel to the inspector general of the Department of State, counsel to the inspector general of the U.S. Information Agency, and attorney/adviser at the Federal Reserve Board. In those positions, among other areas of law, she was involved extensively in litigation, civil and criminal investigations, national security and intelligence matters, contract and grant audits, U.S. government broadcasting operations, congressional relations, domestic and international bank holding company transactions, and policies governing foreign sovereign debt default. 

Dean DeVigne also has extensive experience in higher education administration, having served at Georgetown University over a nine-year period as associate dean of students, interim dean of students, and special counsel to the university. At Georgetown University Law Center she served on the American Criminal Law Review and taught in the Street Law clinical program. Dean DeVigne serves on the board of directors of the State Department Federal Credit Union and the law board of advisers for the National Youth Leadership Forum.
