Cori Alonso-Yoder

Cori Alonso-Yoder is an Associate Professor of Fundamentals of Lawyering at GW Law. Professor Alonso-Yoder is a nationally recognized scholar on immigration legislation and the impacts of state, local and federal laws on immigrant communities. She specializes in the health policy of immigration. Professor Alonso-Yoder is bilingual in English and Spanish.


Jeremy Bearer-Friend

Jeremy Bearer-Friend is an Associate Professor of Law. Professor Bearer-Friend is an expert in tax law with a special scholarship focus on tax paying as a civic act that shapes a citizen's relationship to government. His research examines the omission of race and ethnicity from federal tax data, the use of administrative discretion to shape the civic features of taxpaying, and the potential of elective in-kind contributions to government in lieu of, or in tandem with, cash payments. Professor Bearer-Friend also writes on the taxation of business entities


Alberto Benítez

Alberto Benítez is a Professor of Clinical Law; and Director of GW Law’s Immigration Clinic. Professor Benítez is an expert in Immigration Law. He supervises students that handle a variety of immigration law matters including representing noncitizens, writing comments to proposed federal regulations, and disseminating information to the public. Professor Benítez is bilingual in English and Spanish.


Robert Brauneis

Robert Brauneis is the Michael J. McKeon Professor of Intellectual Property Law; Co-Director of the Intellectual Property Law Program; Co-Director of the Dean Dinwoodey Center for Intellectual Property Studies; Member, Managing Board, Munich Intellectual Property Law Center and the George Washington University Law School. Professor Brauneis is an expert on copyright, trademark, property and constitutional law. He is the co-author of a leading casebook on copyright law, as well as numerous articles.


Mary Anne Franks

Mary Anne Franks is the Eugene L. and Barbara A. Bernard Professor in Intellectual Property, Technology, and Civil Rights Law at the George Washington University Law School. Dr. Franks is an international expert on the intersection of civil rights, free speech, and technology. She is the President and Legislative & Tech Policy Director of the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating online abuse and discrimination.


Aram Gavoor

Aram Gavoor is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; Professorial Lecturer in Law; Professor (by courtesy), Trachtenberg School of Public Policy & Public Administration. Dean Gavoor is an internationally recognized scholar in national security, American administrative law, and federal courts. He previously served as Senior Counsel for National Security in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.


Robert Glicksman

Robert Glicksman is the J.B. and Maurice C Shapiro Professor of Environmental Law. He is a nationally and internationally recognized expert on environmental, natural resources, and administrative law issues. Professor Glicksman’s areas of expertise include environmental and natural resources law, along with others. He has consulted on various environmental and natural resources law issues, including work for the Secretariat of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation.


Emily Hammond

Emily Hammond is the Glen Earl Research Professor. Professor Hammond is a nationally recognized expert in energy, environmental and administrative law. Prior to teaching, they were an environmental engineer bringing fluency between the intersection of law, science and policy. Professor Hammond has held a presidential appointment at the Department of Energy, where they served as Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, Regulation and Enforcement as well as Deputy General Counsel for Environment and Litigation.


Dayna Bowen Matthew

Dayna Bowen Matthew is the Dean and Harold H. Greene Professor of Law. Dean Matthew is an expert in public health and civil rights law. Her research focuses on disparities in health, health care, and the social determinants of health. 


Spencer Overton

Spencer Overton is the Patricia Roberts Harris Research Professor of Law. Professor Overton is an expert on voting rights, the legality and threats of election deepfakes, AI and voting rights, and multiracial democracy. He has recently testified in front of the Subcommittee of Cybersecurity, Information, Technology, and Government Innovation, U.S. House Committee of Oversight and Accountability on the “Advances in Deepfake Technology” and frequently comments on the threats and advances in the field.


Sonia Suter

Sonia Suter is the Henry St. George Tucker III Dean’s Research Professor of Law; the Kahan Family Research Professor of Law; and Founding Director of the Health Law Initiative. Professor Suter is an expert at the intersection of law, medicine, and bioethics, with a particular focus on reproductive rights, emerging reproductive technologies, and ethical and legal issues in genetics. She is a leading legal scholar in the a post-Roe world.
