For the past six years Ms. Burks has worked as a trial attorney with the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where she prosecutes cases involving misconduct in the financial derivatives markets. Ms. Burks has drafted and argued motions in U.S. District Courts across the country, many of which involved complex products and large financial institutions. She has also worked alongside other divisions at the CFTC to draft and amend various federal regulations.
