Andrew Welz is as an Ethics Advisor in the Office of General Counsel at the Department of Health & Human Services. Previously, he was an associate in the Washington office of Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., where he worked on environmental litigation. Mr. Welz began his career with Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he worked on a variety of complex litigation matters, as well as government and internal investigations. He also has a deep interest in pro bono work, which has included defending New Jersey’s ban on so-called gay conversion therapy and representing low-income individuals in family law and housing matters. While at GW Law, Mr. Welz was the Senior Managing Editor of The George Washington Law Review, co-president of GW Lambda Law, and a co-chair for The McKenna Long & Aldridge ‘Gilbert A. Cuneo’ Government Contracts Moot Court Competition.
