GW Law Commencement

2017 Commencement: May 20-21

Commencement 2015

Commencement at the George Washington University Law School is more than just one event on a single day — you can take part in celebrations for a whole weekend. Events range from the Dean's Reception at the Air and Space Museum to the University Commencement and the GW Law Diploma ceremony on Sunday.

University Commencement takes place on the National Mall and is open to all graduates to come and celebrate their achievements. This event requires tickets and includes remarks from leadership and speakers, and highlights honorary degree recipients. GW Law also has an additional diploma ceremony to honor graduates.

"I'm looking forward to sharing my story with the graduates and inspiring them to use their law degrees to serve those who are not as fortunate as they have been. Lawyers can do this regardless of where they end up practicing law, regardless of the kind of practice they will be involved in, and regardless of the substantive area they may end up specializing in."
