Covid-19 Update

Due to recent guidance from the CDC, school Commencement ceremonies and Commencement on the National Mall have been canceled. We are working diligently to determine how we can, appropriately and safely, celebrate our graduates within the constraints of the current circumstances.

GW Law Commencement

2020 Commencement: May 16-17

Commencement at the George Washington University Law School is more than just one event on a single day — you can take part in celebrations for a whole weekend. Events range from the Dean's Reception at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of African American History and Culture to the University Commencement and the GW Law Diploma ceremony on Sunday.

University Commencement takes place on the National Mall and is open to all graduates to come and celebrate their achievements. This event includes remarks from leadership and speakers and highlights honorary degree recipients. GW Law also has an additional diploma ceremony to honor graduates.
