Class of 2020 graduates, families, and friends are welcome to join President LeBlanc for a ceremony of thoughtful reflection.

Awards Ceremony

2-4 pm
Dorothy Betts Theatre, Marvin Center, 1st Floor
800 21st Street, NW
Graduates who are receiving awards will receive invitations and their families and friends are welcome to attend.

Dean's Reception

6:30-8:30 pm
Smithsonian Institution National Museum of African American History and Culture
1400 Constitution Ave NW
Business dress requested. Heavy hors-d'oeuvres served. Please note that graduates and their guests will each need a ticket for this event. Four tickets will be allocated per graduate. There will be no additional tickets. Use of public transportation is strongly encouraged.

University Commencement

Learn more about the University Commencement Ceremony
You must be at the Mall by 8:30 am with regalia and you enter the mall at 15th and Madison. You will be directed where to go by University personnel.

GW Law Class Photo

1 pm
Corner of 20th and G Street, NW
Before the diploma ceremony, a panoramic photo will be taken of the graduating class. Please be at the corner of 20th and G Streets, NW by 12:50 pm. The photo will be taken at 1 pm.

Law School Diploma Ceremony

2:30 pm
Charles E. Smith Center 

Law School Diploma Ceremony 
The diploma ceremony will be held in the Charles E. Smith Center at 2:30 pm. Graduates should line up at 20th G Sts. at 12:50 pm for the class picture and proceed to Funger Hall (22nd and G Sts.) to get ready for the procession into Smith Center. The procession will commence at 2 pm and the ceremony is expected to last no longer than three hours and thirty minutes and end by 5:30 pm.
