David E. Brunori is a Senior Director at RSM US where he specializes in state and local taxation. He is also a Research Professor of Public Policy at the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at GWU, where he teaches courses in state and local public finance, administrative law, and fiscal federalism. Previously, he was a Partner at the national law firm of Quarles & Brady and served as Deputy Publisher at Tax Analysts.

Mr. Brunori writes a regular column for Law 360 Tax Authority on state and local tax developments. He has published numerous books on public finance including his latest work, Local Tax Policy: a Primer. Mr. Brunori started his career as an appellate trial attorney with the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice and practiced with a Washington, DC, law firm. He is a National Academy of Public Administration Fellow and an American College of Tax Counsel Fellow. Mr. Brunori is currently a Senior Fellow at the DC Policy Center.
