Herb Somers is the Reference/Foreign & International Law Librarian at the Jacob Burns Law Library. Mr. Somers has more than 25 years of experience in academic and law libraries specializing in foreign and international legal research as well as U.S. federal and international documents librarianship. Before joining the Law School, he worked at major university libraries at Tufts, Yale, and Northwestern universities. Mr. Somers also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the law school teaching Advanced Legal Research. He also taught at Dominican University's (formerly Rosary College) Graduate School of Library and Information Science in River Forest, Illinois.

Mr. Somers was a former president and board member of the Law Librarians' Society of Washington, D.C. and is admitted to the practice of law in Maryland.
