Johanna Jochum is an associate in the Energy and Natural Resources Group of Babst Calland, where she represents clients before the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
Prior to joining Babst Calland, Ms. Jochum served as an attorney-advisor for the DOE’s Office of the Assistant General Counsel for Legislation, Regulation, and Energy Efficiency. While there, she provided legal advice to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) on a variety of issues under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) and the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA). Previously, she was an associate in the energy practice of Morgan Lewis.
Ms. Jochum earned her JD from the George Washington University Law School in 2012. While in law school, she was the managing editor of The George Washington Law Review. She was also a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E). She received her BS in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Akron in 2009.
