Lisa Reid Ragen has recently rejoined the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the Chief Counsel’s Office in the Division of Investment Management. This is her second tour of duty at the Commission; she originally joined the SEC in the Legal Policy section of the General Counsel’s Office focusing on IM matters, then she served as Counsel to Commissioner Steve Wallman before joining the Division as Counsel to the Division Director and later was the Assistant Director of the former Office of Insurance Products. Ms. Reid Ragen has been teaching a course on the 1940 Acts at George Washington University Law School for over 20 years and has also taught at American University’s Washington College of Law. In between her tours at the SEC, she advised a small Maryland community bank on legal issues, matters of compliance, and auditing. Prior to her initial SEC service, Ms. Reid Regan was an associate at Sullivan and Cromwell in New York and London following a clerkship for the Honorable Albert J. Engel on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She earned a BA from Pennsylvania State University and a JD from Duke University School of Law.
