Currently serving as Special Counsel in the Competition Policy Division of the FCC's Wireline Competition Bureau, Sherwin Siy came to the FCC after working for several years as a staff attorney, Deputy Legal Director, and finally Vice President of Legal Affairs at Public Knowledge, where he worked on a variety of technology policy issues, with a particular focus on copyright law. Prior to his time at Public Knowledge, Mr. Siy was staff counsel at the Electronic Privacy Information Center. His past work has included writing and preparing appellate and Supreme Court amicus briefs, comments before the FCC and the Department of Commerce, testifying before Congress and the Copyright Office, and numerous speaking engagements to legal audiences as well as online, radio, and televised media.
