Shira Renee Zeman is an attorney and founding member of Zeman and Petterson. Prior to forming Zeman and Petterson, Ms. Zeman founded Zeman Law Office. Her practice built on her experience as an associate attorney at Yacub Law Offices and a student attorney at the George Washington University Law School Immigration Clinic, where she represented clients in family and humanitarian-based immigration cases. Ms. Zeman previously served as a summer associate and extern at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the Mental Health Section, a Mental Health Advocate with the State of Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, and a Research Assistant at the University of Miami with the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Lab. She represents clients before Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, Maryland Circuit Courts, Virginia Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. She concentrates her practice on asylum claims, Special Immigrant Juvenile petitions, family-based petitions, motions to reopen, U-Visas, Temporary Protected Status, and complex adjustment of status applications. Ms. Zeman speaks English and Spanish and is licensed in Maryland
and Virginia.
