Steve Wolfson is a Senior Attorney at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of General Counsel, where he coordinates international capacity-building activities on environmental law. He has trained environmental lawyers in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and leads the EPA OGC’s Environmental Law Initiative, which works to help China’s Environment Ministry strengthen Chinese environmental law and institutions.
Mr. Wolfson has represented the EPA in environmental treaty negotiations and at World Trade Organization dispute settlement proceedings concerning environmental issues. He is a graduate of Brown University and the UCLA School of Law, a member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law, and served as Vice-Chair for Programs of the International Environmental Law Committee in the ABA Section on Environment, Energy and Resources. Mr. Wolfson has taught International Environmental Law as an adjunct professor at Howard University Law School and US-Chinese Comparative Environmental Law as an adjunct professor in the Vermont Law School summer program.
