Prior to joining GW as a Friedman Fellow and Visiting Associate Professor Elenore Wade worked as an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Bread for the City in Washington, DC, where she conducted weekly on-site legal clinics at family homeless shelters in DC, and practiced family and public benefits law and assisted clients in accessing identifying documents. Her focus has been primarily on public healthcare, including representing individuals contesting the termination or denial of Medicaid, payer-level advocacy for older adults and disabled individuals seeking community-based long-term care services under Medicaid, and advocating for changes to the District's Medicaid long-term care program administration. Professor was an educator prior to becoming an attorney.
