Emma Raviv is Assistant General Counsel for WETA, the Washington-area PBS affiliate which produces the PBS NewsHour, the nightly news program, as well as various documentaries and arts programming. Before entering the public media space, she served as an Attorney-Advisor in the Barbara A. Ringer Honors Program at the U.S. Copyright Office, and, prior to that, she litigated copyright, trademark, and trade secret matters at a large law firm in New York on behalf of advertising, cruise ship, and fitness clients, among others. Ms. Raviv holds a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park in economics and philosophy, and a JD from Harvard Law School, where she served on the executive board of the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology. She serves on the board of Arts on the Block, a nonprofit organization that offers hands-on studio art programming to youth and young adults in Maryland.
