Raymond J. Wyrsch has taught at GW Law as a Professorial Lecturer since 2004 (Unincorporated Business Organizations and Agency Law, Corporations, Legal Accounting, and Secured Transactions). He had taught at the Catholic University of America School of Law, in both a full-time (11 years) and an adjunct capacity (21 years), specializing in all forms of business organizations and legal accounting and finance. He also teaches in the American Law Program at Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland, and Catholic University’s School of Business and Economics.

Mr. Wyrsch graduated from the University of Houston Law School in 1972. He also received two graduate degrees from George Washington University: a Masters in Law (LLM, Corporation Law, (1977), and a MBA (1982). Mr. Wyrsch served as an officer in the U.S. Army, 3rd Infantry Division (1967-1969). After law school Mr. Wyrsch worked at the Office of General Counsel, Government Accountability Office (GAO), as a Senior Attorney (1972-2001), specializing in national security, intelligence, international affairs, and government corporations, accounting and financial matters. 

Throughout most of his professional career at GAO Mr. Wyrsch had taught business law-related courses as an Adjunct Professor, mostly at Catholic but also several other D.C. area universities. While a full-time professor, Mr. Wyrsch was voted “Professor of the Year” at Catholic in academic years 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2006-2007. The law students at Catholic voted Mr. Wyrsch as “Most Supportive Professor” in the following academic years: 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2010-2011,2011-2012 and 2012-2013. The CUA graduating law students voted Mr. Wyrsch as their Faculty Graduation Marshal in the following years: 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2012. In his last year at Catholic, the law students voted Mr. Wyrsch as the top Adjunct Professor for the academic year 2013-2014.

Mr. Wyrsch and his wife Claire live in Silver Spring and have two children, Kara, a graduate of the University of Maryland Law School, and Michael, a career officer in the U.S. Marine Corps as a fighter jet pilot.
