Apply for Financial Aid
If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you may apply for GW Law need-based grants and federal loans. You are ineligible to apply for need-based grants if you are a transfer student, joint BA/JD student, are receiving GW employee tuition benefits, or are the recipient of a GW Law Merit Scholarship in the amount of $20,000 or more.
Note: Joint JD/other GW graduate school degree students may apply for federal loans and GW Law need-based grants, but may not receive a grant for any semester in which they are enrolled exclusively in their other graduate program’s courses.

The closer to the start of the academic period for which you need aid you submit your applications, the less time the Law Financial Aid Office and your lender have to process your loan, reducing your chances of receiving loan funds in a timely manner.
