Jason Belk
Dean of Students
Dean Belk oversees the function of the Dean of Students Office and works with students individually on a wide range of issues from personal concerns to academic status. He also counsels the Student Bar Association, helps to create new programming and outreach, and collaborates with other offices in the law school and across the university on academic and extracurricular ideas. Dean Belk is an advisor for the Ginsburg Inn.

Amanda E. Compton
Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Professorial Lecturer in Law
Dean Compton provides academic advising, personal guidance, and holistic support to help students navigate the demands of law school. She works closely with individuals on degree planning and academic strategies, while also overseeing student life and bar initiatives, designed to foster an inclusive, supportive law school community.
Outside of her work at the law school, Dean Compton enjoys exploring local hiking trails, trying out new recipes, traveling whenever possible, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Andra Roy Chernack
Director of Disability Services and Senior Academic Advisor
Andra has worked in student affairs at GW Law since 2007. Since 2012, she has been the Director of Disability Support Services and Senior Academic Advisor in the Dean of Students Office. In this capacity, she coordinates and supports student and academic services with a particular focus on law students with disabilities. She counsels law students on academic, personal, and professional matters. She is currently the Chair-Elect for the American Association of Law Schools Section on Student Services. She is a Past President of the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals (NALSAP). A proud member of NALSAP since 2016, she has served on the Executive Board (2024 – 2026) and as a Co-Chair of the 2022 Annual Conference.
Andra graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana and earned her JD from Catholic University Columbus School of Law as an evening student. Her previous work experience includes working on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senators J. Bennett Johnston and Mary L. Landrieu, working at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Office of Policy Development, and working at the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary. When not working with law students, Andra spends time with her husband, Greg, her sons, Ben and Andy, and a beloved schnoodle, Janey. She balances her time with gardening, cooking, traveling whenever possible, and the occasional Netflix binge session.

Dan Prestwich
Director of Student Academic Services
Dan Prestwich oversees the law school’s tutor matching program (which includes both one-on-one and group sessions), recording policy, schedules make-up exams and accommodated exams, and answers general questions about the law school. Ayomide Fashola
Senior Student Affairs Program Associate
Ayomide supports the development of a vibrant and engaged law school community. She supports programs such as Orientation, the Open Doors Scholars Program, and Footnotes, while advising student organizations and coordinating events that enhance the academic, professional, and social experiences of law students.

Sophia George
Graduate Admissions and Engagement Coordinator
Sophia George has been supporting students through the admissions process at GW Law since 2022. She earned her bachelor’s degree from American University the same year and is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate through the GW School of Business. Originally from Connecticut, Sophia now lives in downtown Washington, DC, and enjoys being part of the city’s vibrant community.
