News, Email Announcements, & Newsletters

News

The communications office provides coverage of many institutional stories, faculty and administrators in the news, law school events, and student and alumni stories on our website and in many print materials.

We encourage our faculty and staff to submit scholarly news items that may interest our GW Law community. Please fill out our Impact, Influence, and Inspire news coverage form to submit an accomplishment or story request.

Impact, Influence, & Inspire News Story Request Form

The GW Law news stories are published on our main website homepage and can be found under the News Stories tab. These stories are published at the discretion of the communications office. Once you submit your form request your story will be added to our queue.

News FAQs

Why was my news article not published?

Our news items serve to benefit GW Law’s impact in the world, inspire our prospective students, and engage with our alumni. If your news item does not serve one of these pillars at this time, we may decide not to publish your story. If you would like to discuss this further please reach out to Liz Field ([email protected]).

Email Announcements

The communications office is happy to assist with the creation of your email campaign. Please gather all content, imagery, and submit it in our newsletter request form.

Important Distribution Information

The communications office cannot send emails directly to listservs. In order to have your email sent to a listserv we will ask for one point of contact who can receive the test email to be forwarded to the necessary listserv.

If you have a list of email addresses for your email communications, please upload that to the newsletter request form.

Newsletters

The Communications Office is happy to assist with the creation and distribution of your electronic newsletters. In an effort to create cohesive content across our programs, we have created a standard newsletter template. This new template will assist in condensing content and improving click rates.

Newsletter FAQs

What do I need to get my newsletter started?

Great question! While our team consists of content specialists, we are not law specialists. Please have prepared as much information as possible. Additionally, please have the images you would like to use or imagery in mind that we can help find.

How do I send my Newsletter?

Once you have gathered all your content please submit the newsletter request form and you will initiate the process of building your newsletter.

Once your newsletter has been mocked up and approved, we can send it via email to our Faculty/Staff list. If you would like to send to a particular list of students or faculty we ask that you provide the list of emails or you may forward the content from your address.
