Upcoming Events

Previous Events

In the past, we have brought together leading stakeholders in the copyright industry, government officials, and prominent academics to consider outstanding issues in the creation of an administrative tribunal to hear copyright claims – one of a series of events that resulted in the creation of the Copyright Claims Board.

We also hosted a series of roundtables on China and Intellectual Property, which gathered leading practitioners, government officials, and academics.

We currently host an annual roundtable on the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), which considers specific PTAB practice issues, recent developments and trends, and policy considerations.

These roundtables bring together some of the top US patent experts and practitioners, including the former Director of the USPTO, Court of Appeals and District Court judges, administrative patent judges, senate staffers, in-house attorneys, and law firm partners.

Privacy Law Scholars Conference (PLSC)

GW Law was one of the founding institutions of the Privacy Law Scholars Conference (PLSC), the leading academic conference on privacy law. Founded by Professors Daniel Solove (GW Law) and Christopher Hoofnagle (Berkeley Law), the event rotated between GW Law and Berkeley Law for about 15 years, until the founders turned the event over to an elected committee and an open host selection process.
