Social Media
Social media plays a critical role in our ability to share the community and student experience at GW Law. Additionally, it contributes to our ability to share our influence at a national and international level.

For Faculty
If you already have a Twitter account set up we recommend you follow our main account (@gwlaw) as well as our program areas. As you share news about your scholarship, events, and other updates please tag us so we know what’s going on! If you do not have an account set up, now is the time! If you have any questions please reach out to Anna Gould ([email protected]).
If you would like your Twitter handle added to your Faculty Profile Webpage (which we recommend!) please fill out the Faculty Request form.
Best Practices
1. Tag us! #GWLaw
The easiest way for us to boost your content is if we know it’s posted. Please tag @gwlaw in your updates that pertain to the law school. When possible please utilize #GWLaw when discussing law updates for our community.
2. Consistency is key
Maintaining an active account is crucial for the best results. Even if you just retweet the main account, we recommend you are active on Twitter at least once a week.
3. Use your network
If you are participating in an event, conference, co-authored op-ed, or any other type of content that involves other colleagues or organizations, tag them! Before you post to see if your colleague or the conference sponsor has a Twitter account. When you tag them you immediately give your post a boost.
Social Media Requests
All published events and news items have been made available to the main social media accounts. If your event requires social media promotion please fill out the Event Request form and a communications team member will relay the information for our social media channels.
However, if you have a story, spotlight, or any update that has not made it to the website please reach out to Anna Gould ([email protected]). While posting is up to the discretion of our communications team, we will always take suggestions!
