Belva Lockwood Award Luncheon

Wed, 4 April, 2018 12:00pm

Join the GW Law Alumni Association, GW Law Association for Women (LAW), and Blake D. Morant, Dean and Robert Kramer Research Professor of Law, as they honor Peggy Richardson, JD'68, Facilities and Fine Arts Committee Chair, National Cathedral with the Belva Lockwood Award.

Past recipients of the Belva Lockwood Award were trailblazers in their fields, and Law Association of Women believe she exemplifies this trait with her distinguished career spanning private practice, the judiciary, and the federal government as well as her many philanthropic endeavors.

There will be an opportunity to network with alumnae attendees and acknowledge the law school's crucial role in championing the careers of female attorneys.

Peggy Richardson, JD ‘68, tax and business consultant and former IRS Commissioner was selected as this year’s winner for her experience across the public and private sectors as well as her philanthropic engagement in the Washington, D.C. community. She was the first woman to be selected to serve as IRS Commissioner under President Bill Clinton from 1993-97. She has served on many philanthropic boards including WETA and the Piedmont Environmental Council.
