Brian Smith is Of Counsel at Covington & Burling LLP, where he advises clients on matters before Congress, the executive branch, and independent agencies. He has significant experience in crisis management, where he develops political, legal, and media strategies for clients dealing with high-profile matters presenting complex risks. Mr. Smith has experience with a wide variety of subject matters before the government, including international trade and affairs, immigration, aviation, clean energy and climate, and telecommunications policy. Prior to working at Covington, Mr. Smith was Assistant to the Special Counsel to President Clinton. Mr. Smith graduated with highest honors from GW Law, where he received the Anne Wells Branscomb Award for graduating first in the class of evening law students. He was Senior Managing Editor of the Law Review, and served as a member of the Moot Court Board.
